Week 6: Roles of Universities & Sustainable Development
From what I gained in the week 6 class is about the role of university and sustainable development.
I'm grateful that I am part of the IIUM community and as a student, I agree that IIUM is the Garden of Knowledge and Virtue. Besides learning to be Muslim Ummah Rahmatan Lil-Alameen, IIUM also applied education for Sustainable Development. This clearly shows that the university has picked up the United Nations' global call and conveyed the message to all IIUM students. One of the elements applied in IIUM is called 'SEJAHTERA'. Sejahtera Centre for Sustainability and Humanity is one organization that was established to champion the sustainability, humanity, and Sejahtera agenda for IIUM. Some of the programs organized by this organization are World Humintarian Day where they give out food at Flat Makmur Sri Selayang, Desa Sejahtera Pinggiran UIAM, and at Kg. Sg. Kertas. Other than that, IIUM also is preparing their students with education which is needed in the industry and also fulfilling society's needs.
